The Armstrong Foil Drive Integrated Carbon Masts redefine what's possible with powered foiling. Unlike standard integrated systems, this setup is purpose-built to reduce drag and unlock a smoother ride from takeoff to touchdown.
For beginners, that means easier lift and no more sudden stalls when the motor pod hits the water. For advanced riders, it's seamless wave performance, can glide through without experiencing drag or stopping abruptly, unlike with standard designs where hitting the motor pod can cause you to bog.
Whether you're chasing bumps on windless days or just starting out, it turns small waves into endless sessions with unmatched performance, flow, and clean lines.
Manufactured with Toray high modulus carbon fiber and finished to the same spec as the Armstrong Performance Masts, this mast is built to handle real-world torsional loads without flinching. Meaning you get high stiffness, low flex, and ultra-precise feedback whether you're pumping through bumps or carving through sections.
The FD Integrated Carbon Mast is available in two configurations, both on a 795mm mast length.
185mm / 795mm Configuration
The 185mm motor pod position hits the sweet spot for most foil-assist disciplines, low drag, well-balanced, and basically invisible once you're on foil. While some advanced riders prefer to mount it closer to the board, and beginners stretch it out to 220mm for extra margin, 185mm remains the goldilocks zone for everyday versatility.
650mm / 795mm Configuration
Meet the next evolutions in powered foiling. The E-Foil mast drops the motor pod to 650mm for consistent submersion and full-time motoring.
Positioned further forward than typical motor mounts, the forward-set pod means the motor is as far forward as possible to reduce lifting torque and deliver smoother takeoffs and touchdowns.
The A+ System is the Armstrong proprietary foil assembly design that join the mast, fuselage, front foil, and stablizer with a hexagonal tapered fit into the front foil. This design is incredibly strong, torsionally rigid, and durable when combined with our material selection. Paired with our premium titanium and stainless steel hardware, corrosion is minimized and the whole package has an industry-leading fit and finish.
